Simon & Garfunkel... yay!

I'm sure everyone knows I'm a huge music person. I like to call myself a musical schizophrenic. I love everything from heavy metal to folk to dance music. At the current moment, I am in love with two very different bands... New Order and Simon & Garfunkel. I have The Best of New Order in my car CD player, but right now I'm rocking out to Simon & Garfunkel on iTunes.

I'll probably end up ranting about New Order later on, but I'm in the mood for some Simon & Garfunkel right now. My love affair with S&G began my junior year in high school. I always wanted to compete in a forensics (for all of you non-theatre people, competitive acting and speech, not icky dead people) competition with S&G lyrics because they are so poetic and would fit so well with the poetry division. Every night, I would listen to Simon & Garfunkel thinking how perfect competing with their lyrics could be. I always thought it out and how it could be so wonderful. Thank God I got to do that! If I hadn't, it would have been one of my biggest regrets ever... as weird as that sounds. I competed with the lyrics my senior year, which gave me a sixth place trophy, which I still display in my room today. I'm so glad I got to do that!

I just recently fell in love with Simon & Garfunkel again. I always loved their stuff together, but the solo stuff is quite amazing too. I was in the car with my mom and I heard Paul Simon's "50 Ways to Leave Your Lover." It's a great song, and so catchy too. I've always loved Art Garfunkel's "All I Know." Five for Fighting did a cover of it for some movie (which I can't think of at the moment) awhile back. It's a beautiful song. Everyone should check it out, even if it's just the 30 second preview at the iTunes store.

Well... that's enough for the music rants right now. I'll be back later for some hopefully entertaining musings and rants about music or life in general!

I really really really wanna zig-a-zig-AH!

This is probably one of the most fun but craziest things I've ever done. Surprisingly, there was no alcohol involved... just a bunch of Sour Skittles. Sugar can lead you to do crazy things. The really sad part is, we actually put so much thought into this. The costumes, the choreography, the lip sync parts... all of it. Without any further ado, here is the infamous Spice Girls "Wannabe" imitation!

Me = Baby Spice
Madhuri = Scary Spice
Cristina = Posh Spice
Gaelyn = Sporty Spice
Dessa = Ginger Spice
